a.The dog
Dogs are the most popular pet in the world. It is believed that they were the first mammals ever to be domesticated. They are omnivore, so they eat both vegetables and meat. With their unique ability and their high intelligence, they were trained by humans to accomplish certain job such as rescue dogs, police dogs, hunting dogs, herding dogs and also messenger dogs. Some people consider dogs as “man’s best friend” for their loyalty to their owner.
Their scientific name is canis lupus familiaris. They were descendant of wolves. Generally, dogs can live up to 13 years. After undergoing a lot of cross-breed process for hundred of years, there are now hundreds species existed in the world with various characteristic. Adult dogs usually sleep for 12 to 14 hours a day. Depending on the species, some dogs can reach the size of 110 cm. Each species of dogs have their own unique characteristic such as color and the length of the fur (some of them even have curly fur), unique pattern on their skin (such as Dalmatian), body size, shape of the head and also shape of their ear, but most of them can produce similar sound such as “bark”, “woof” or “arf”. They have four legs. Some species have long legs that allow them to be a good runner. Dogs are color blind, but they can smell and hear better than humans.
b.the elephant
Elephant is the largest and strongest of all animals. It is a strange looking animal which it has thick legs, huge sides and backs, large hanging ears, a small tail, little eyes, long white tusks and above all, elephant has a long nose, the trunk. An elephant is commonly seen in a zoo, it is hard to find in its natural habitat.
The trunk is the elephant's peculiar feature. This trunk has various usages. The elephant draws up water by its trunk and can squirt the water all over its body like a shower bath. The elephant's trunk also lifts leaves and put them into its mouth. In fact, the trunk serves the elephant as long arm and hand. An elephant looks very clumsy and heavy and yet an elephant can move very quickly.
The elephant is very intelligent animal. Its intelligence combined with its great strength makes an elephant a very useful servant to man. Elephant can be trained to serve in various ways such as carry heavy loads, hunt for tigers and even fight. An elephant is really a smart animal.
c.the lions
Lion or in scientif name Panthera Leo is of the big four cats in Genus Panthera and the Family of Felidae. They currently can be found in Sub-Saharian Africa and South Asia, while the other type have disappeared from North Africa and Southwest Asia in Historic Times.
Lions live for 10–14 years in the wild, while in captivity they can live longer than 20 years. hey typically inhabit savanna and grassland, although they may take to bush and forest. Lion are big cat that can't swim, because on their habitat is difficult to find water. Lions spend much of their times for resting, they rest about 20 Hours a day.
Lions are social animals to, Some lions are residents, living in groups centering around related lionesses, called prides. The pride usually consists of five or six females, their cubs of both sexes, and one or two males (known as a coalition if more than one) who mate with the adult females (although extremely large prides, consisting of up to 30 individuals, have been observed). he second organizational behaviour is labeled nomads, who range widely and move about sporadically, either singularly or in pairs.
Lions are powerful animals they have shaps claws and teeth and can run up to 81km/hour, but they haven't good stamina, so, they need to be close to their prey before start attack. They take advantage of factors that reduce visibility, many kills take place near some form of cover or at night. hunting usually done by Female Lions, and male lion just shut up and wait for result of the hunt, but, sometimes male lion are hunt to. They prey usually consist of large Mammal, such as Wildbeest, Warthog, Wildboar, Buffalo, and several Species of Deers
Male Lion can easily recognize by its mane, it used to cover their neck when fight. male lion have length about 250-330cm and weight about 150-250kg and Female lion have length about 240-270cm and weight about 120-185kg. Lions have many Sub-Species, like Asiatic Lion, Barbary Lion, Massai lion, Transvaal lion, White lion, and the other Sub-Species.
d.The cow
Cow or also known as cattle are four-legged herbivorous mammal of the family Bovidae. Their scientific name is Bos taurus. They have been domesticated since ten thousand years ago and are raised as livestock ever since. Beside that some of them are also used as dairy animals for their milk and as draft animals to work on a rice field. They spend most of their time chewing grass around them.
Cow has a large body. They can grow up to the size of 1,3 m in height and 2,6 m in length. Some species can grow even larger than that. The average body weight of a male cow is 1.100 kg and the average weight of a female cow is 720 kg. the gestation period of a cow is about nine months. The average weight of a baby cow, also known as “calf”, is around 25 to 45 kg. The calf primarily feed on milk from their mother. Their lifespan is around 18 to 22 years.
Most of them have horns on their head, but nowadays a species of hornless cow can be found anywhere in the world. They have a long tail that they can lift up and hold on horizontal position when they want to defecate. The end part of the tail is covered by long and black hair. There are various skin color of cow in the world, some of them are: white, white with some large and black spot in abstract shape, black, brown, yellow and reddish.
e.The snake
Snake is a legless carnivorous reptile. There are around 3.600 species of snakes in the world. All of them come in different size and color. Some of them have venom which strong enough to cause death to human. They live in various habitat such as underground burrow, lake, swamp, mountain, tree branches and also in the sand.
Snakes have scaly skin. Their skin have various patterns and colors depending on their species. Some of their skin patterns are: black and white stripes all over the body, black-red-yellow stripes, diamond shapes, and also a very unique symbols like on the back of a King Cobra. Snakes from different species also have different body size. The smallest snake, the long thread snake, have a body size of 10,4 cm. The largest snakes such as Python can reach the size of 12 m long.
Snakes have a very flexible body which allow them to enlarged it when they want to eat a prey that has larger body than theirs. The tongue of a snake is split into two, it is called the forked tongue. They use this tongue to smell the track of their prey. If they open their mouth, we will see that they have two fangs on their upper side of the mouth which they use to bite the prey or to deliver their venom to the enemy.
